Hope Vale Foundation at FutureAg Expo 2025

Hope Vale Foundation Manager, Rachelle McIvor, attended the FutureAg Expo in Melbourne from 6–8 August, supporting delegates from the Hope Vale Congress Rangers, Riana Hart and Leonard Yoren.

During the three-day event, the group attended Australia’s Agricultural Identity: An Aboriginal Yarn, presented by Joshua Gilbert, Agriculturist and Innovator. Joshua’s session explored a new approach to Indigenous culture and farming, blending ancient knowledge and practices with modern technology and insights.

He spoke about building opportunities within the Indigenous Estate—over 60% of Australia’s landmass—enabling Indigenous people to sell cattle at top prices and produce golden fleece for high-value markets. Importantly, he emphasised creating a truly Australian agricultural narrative, one that honours Indigenous insights and our shared history, while bringing together ideas to shape the future.
