Pioneering crop innovation at Foundation Farm

In July 2024, the Hope Vale Foundation works crew, with the assistance of Tony Matchett from James Cook University, successfully installed a Gallagher solar electric fence at the Foundation Farm.

This installation marks a significant milestone in our collaborative efforts with James Cook University and Rainstick Technology rainstick.com.au/ to trial both treated and untreated plants, assessing the impact of the Rainstick Variable Electric Field treatment on crop performance.

This innovative project draws inspiration from the Indigenous knowledge of the Maiawali people of Central West Queensland. Hope Vale Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Darryl Lyon and his team for their invaluable contribution to this groundbreaking initiative.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we walk. We pay our respects to Elders past and present as we walk this journey of healing together.
